After a week of temperatures in the 70’s (VERY unusual for our area) we are more than ready for spring. We started our garden last week and planted spinach, radishes, peas, carrots and kohlrabi. The kids were so excited and are checking on the seeds almost daily.
With all this excitement, we thought it would be fun to count down the days until spring. My daughter and I came up with a simple little sketch that got the job done. But then I had a little bit of extra time on my hands (also VERY unusual 🙂 ) and decided to draw it a bit nicer and give it some color. I also scored the paper between the bulbs and the circles to create a smooth fold. Now, the kids take turns moving lady spring forward each morning. And I love the splash of spring color it adds to the house.
While we are using it to count down to spring, I have a feeling that there might be other uses for it as well.

UPDATE: I have updated the B&W printable and now also have the colored version available for download due to many requests. With this updated download you also receive a Spring Scavenger Hunt.
And as we are counting down we keep talking about how we should celebrate when spring arrives. Bonfire? Special breakfast? Hike? Do you have any spring equinox traditions?
