Counting Down to Spring

Written by Noreen Greimann

After a week of temperatures in the 70’s (VERY unusual for our area) we are more than ready for spring. We started our garden last week and planted spinach, radishes, peas, carrots and kohlrabi. The kids were so excited and are checking on the seeds almost daily.

With all this excitement, we thought it would be fun to do a countdown to spring. My daughter and I sketched out a simple countdown using a tulip as our symbol for spring. It was simple, yet lovely.

Later that day, I had a little bit of extra time on my hands (also VERY unusual 🙂 ) and decided to draw a more detailed version and also add some color. Now, the kids take turns moving lady spring forward each morning. And I love the splash of spring color it adds to the house.

UPDATE: For detailed instructions on how to create your own spring countdown as well as the PDF of the countdown, visit this updated post.
